Seven-year-old actress Lexi Rabe, who was recently seen as Morgan Stark in Avengers: Endgame, has today issued a statement to the world: “please don’t bully me.” Pull the plug; the Internet was a mistake.
For those not in the know, Rabe was targeted by one fan online, seemingly disgruntled at the fact that her and her mother were unable to stop and sign an autograph or pose for a photograph. In a video posted via Instagram, Rabe’s mother acknowledged that the young actress, who also starred in last month’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, can act goofy and “silly” while in public, before reminding the world that she’s just seven years old.
I hate that we even have to post this. But yet again Lexi’s getting bullied. And this kind of thing makes it celebrities never want to leave the house never want to meet people. Please keep your opinions to yourself so Lexi can grow up in the free world. She’s a normal human being and she’s a child. Sometimes were rushing from place to place stressed like everyone else to get to set on time or work or whatever and we seem a little grumpy. I’m sorry if you see us this way but that’s life!
This is… unsettling. The fact that some fans feel so entitled that a 7-year-old child must always be willing to pose for a photo/sign an autograph is outrageous and, frankly, dangerous.
We understand Instagram boss Adam Mosseri recently outlined a plan to tackle bullying on the popular platform, but so long as toxic fandom persists, instances like the one above will only continue. Truth be told, we don’t know the exact specifics of the encounter in question, and likely never will, but the subsequent bullying is out of order. Don’t let it faze you, Lexi. And remember, we love you 3,000.
