Check Out Some First Look Photos From The Flash’s “Attack On Gorilla City” Episode

At the end of this week’s episode of The Flash, Jesse Quick made a surprise appearance to ask Kid-Flash for help due to the fact that Gorilla Grodd had kidnapped her father – Earth-2’s Harrison Wells – and taken him back to Gorilla City. We can’t say for sure yet how that will play out, but based on the images in the gallery above, the rescue mission doesn’t exactly go as planned.

Barry, Cisco, Caitlin, and Julian all end up behind bars alongside Harry, and chances are that’s because Grodd’s psychic powers have only increased since the last time we saw him. In an interesting twist though, the synopsis for this particular episode of The Flash reveals that the gorilla actually wants Team Flash’s help to stop the ruler of Gorilla City from attacking Earth-1.

When Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) informs the team that her father (Tom Cavanagh) has been abducted, Barry (Grant Gustin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Julian (Tom Felton) voyage to Earth-2 on a rescue mission to save Harry from Gorilla City. As they trek through the forest, Barry and the team are immediately captured and brought to Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov).

Grodd tells them he needs their help to stop Solovar (voiced by Keith David), the leader of Gorilla City, as Solovar wants to invade Earth-1. Meanwhile, back on Earth-1, Jesse and Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) hit the streets to stop a metahuman that can control gravity, with H.R. and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) guiding them from S.T.A.R. Labs. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Andrew Kresiberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & David Kob.

Grodd has appeared in The CW series sporadically over the years, but this two-part event promises to be the most screen time he’s received to date. We’re going to see other intelligent gorillas as well, so chances are the network has really splashed the cash here and it could very well lay the groundwork for Grodd to take on a leading role in season 4 – which is something fans would definitely love to see.

Time will tell if that eventually happens, but the return of both Harry and Grodd promises to be very exciting. Unfortunately, The Flash won’t be back on our screens for another two weeks, so the wait will be a bit longer than usual, but something tells us it’ll be worth it.
